The women in Chechov

Ένα φωτογραφικό ντοκιμαντέρ με θέμα τις γυναίκες του Άντον Τσέχωφ, με επίκεντρο το έργο "Θείος Βάνιας".  Αναζητώντας την σύνδεση, και απόσταση των χαρακτήρων, δεμένοι στο πεπρωμένο τους, ακολουθώντας ανεκπλήρωτες επιθυμίες, θα αποδράσουν από την πραγματικότητα τους προσωρινά, για να επιστρέψουν στην καθημερινότητα έχοντας γευτεί τον πειρασμό και τον πόθο, συχνά χωρίς ανταπόκριση.  

Lens Culture 2014

A photographic documentary of the women in Anton Chechov plays.  In focusing on the play "Uncle Vanya" I look into the distance and connection of the characters.  Destiny bownd, following unfulfilled disires, they escape their reality temporarily, but return to their lives having tasted temptation and unresolved craving.  The refinement of tragedy is bitter sweet.

...Και με σκότωσες. Και κοίταζες το πτώμα μου. Και μόνο τότε με πλησίασες. Όταν πέθανα. Έτσι γίνεται. Και παρόλο που ήμουν νεκρός, με ένα σκοινί μου έδεσες το στόμα. Λες και θα ζωντάνευα ξαφνικά. Και με έσυρες μέχρι το δάσος. Και με άφησες εκεί. Και έφυγες.

Πριν από όλα αυτά, πρόλαβα να σε δαγκώσω. Όχι για να σε νικήσω. Όχι για να σε φοβήσω. Για να με θυμάσαι. Για να θυμάσαι εμένα. Και όχι από την πληγή, από αυτό που θα μείνει. Όχι από το ενθύμιο.

Ψάξε τώρα να δεις που σε δάγκωσα. Ψάξε. ...

... and you killed me. And you looked at my body, and only then did you approach me, when I died.  It comes like this. And even though I was dead, you tied my mouth with a rope, as if I would come back from the dead.  And you drug me down to the forest, and you left me there. And you left.

Before all this, i mannaged to bite you. Not to win. Nor to frighten you.  Just so that you can remember me.  And not form the wound, from what remains.  Not form the souvenir.

οι χαρακτήρες σκιαγραφόνται μέσω των αντικειμένων - το περιεχόμενο από τις τσάντες των γυναικών, που προβάλονται κατα τη διάρκεια του έργου

8 women are interviewed for a role in a film.
The director through the interviews is researching the story for his film for which he has no clue about..
the characters are showcased through the objects of their bags projected throughout the play
